Field Day 2002 at Yosemite High

MARC operated 2-Alfa in the 2002 Field Day from behind the Yosemite High School Baseball Field in Oakhurst CA.

On  the weekend of June 22nd, eighteen operators came to contest using the club call sign W6BW. This is an annual exercise to demonstrate the readiness of the Mountain Amateur Radio Club's Emergency Services for a future possible local emergency. Antennas were strung in trees, stations set up in tents, power from a generator, food for body power, and eager operators to contest. In the twenty-four period The Club scored 1162 points, plus 800 bonus points, for a grand total of 1962 points. The Club had a 13% member participation. The coordinators, Scott Hill K6IX, Jeff Wandell KF6CNV, Jerry Thompson WA6ONA, and Bruce Oatman W6BWO did a fantastic job of planning and execution. The exercise ran smoothly, and without incident. The food was wonderful thanks to Lupe and Jerry Thompson. All in All, it was a successful Field Day.
